Introduction: The traditional herbal formulations are becoming choice of drug for the treatment in present scenario because of their effectiveness without any side effect in compression to conventional drugs. The toxicity profile as well as pharmacological evaluation of newly developed drug is essential to provide scientific base and global acceptance. Aim: To evaluate acute oral toxicity with antioxidant and ulcer protective activities of Ommiezz Syrup (polyherbal formulation) against Peptic ulcer. Method: The study protocol was certified by IAEC (SKPCPER/IAEC/2016-02/01) as per the CPCSEA. The acute oral toxicity of test drug was evaluated by following OECD guideline AOT-425 to know single dose (2000mg/kg) toxicity. The efficacy of test drug on peptic ulcer was assessed in Pylorus ligation induced ulcer model in Albino Wister Rats. The effect of test drug on gastric parameters (gastric volume, pH, free and total acidity, ulcer index) and oxidative stress marker level (superoxide dismutase-SOD, catalase, malondialdehyde-MDA) were assessed comparatively with various controlled groups. Results: The acute oral toxicity study reveals neither any physical -behavioral changes nor mortality in any animal during study period. Significant increase in pH while decrease in gastric volume, total acidity, free acidity and ulcer index was observed in test drug treated group in comparison to various control and standard drug treated group. Significant effect of test drug was obtained on antioxidant marker level as compare to other groups. Conclusion: The No- Observed-Adverse-Effect-Level (NOAEL) of Ommiezz syrup is 2000mg/kg as it did not produce any toxicity at that dose. The obtain results of test drug are favoring of its ulcer protective and antioxidant.

Ayurveda is a science of traditional medicine which has main focus on maintenance of health and prevention from diseases. Roga (disease) is vitiated state of Doshas. According to Ayurveda, various factors causes alteration in elements of body leading to manifestation of Roga followed by the involvement of Doshas, Dhatu, Agni and Srotas along with deranged Vayu, Jala, Desha and Kala. Ayurveda described Sankarmna as Aupsargika Roga which associated with vitiation of Doshas. In this article we will relate the Sankramak Roga and Tridoshas. The pathophysiology of infectious disease elaborated with reference to vitiation of Tridoshas.

Kumbh Mela, one of the largest recurrent Mass Gatherings (MGs) across the world, is a major pilgrimage and festival in Hinduism. It is celebrated once in every 3 years at four river-bank pilgrimage sites: at the Allahabad, Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain. The present study included oral health promotion and oral cancer screening at sector hospitals in Allahabad during Kumbh Mela, 2019. About 10,000 participants were screened during the Mela and a significant proportion was found to have premalignant lesions. To conclude, MGs are more of an opportunity for increasing awareness of the public on oral cancer, training in mouth self-examination and early self-reporting of any suspicious lesions to the local hospitals than for early diagnosis of oral cancer, referral and follow up.

Hemangiomas are the most common vascular tumor. Congenital hemangiomas are rare, benign vascular tumors that, unlike infantile hemangiomas, are present and fully grown at birth. They present as bossed plaques or exophytic masses located on the head, neck, or limbs. This report describes the case of a 9 months old female baby with progressively increasing hemangioma of the right cheek not involving the corner of the lip. This hemangioma promptly responded to Cryosurgery -“The Cold-Method”. A gradual improvement in clinical picture was observed in just a few days after the beginning of the treatment. The regression of 1/4 of the lesion was noticed as compared to the original size in 45 days of treatment, and to less than 1/10 after 8 months, free of any major side effects. The case was followed for more than 3 years. The procedure was quick, simple, bloodless.
Due to the scenario of COVID-19 pandemic students are unable to learn from their home since they need some support and guidance from the teacher and also from the management. So teachers have taken initiative to take online classes. The objective of this study is to explore the lived in experiences of online learning among first year nursing students during lockdown period. A qualitative research approach and phenomenological design was adopted for this study. Colaizzi’s analysis frame work was used for data analysis. A total of 65 first year Nursing students have participated from selected nursing colleges in Madurai. Semi structured interview was used to gather data via zoom cloud meeting, after which the information was transcribed and made into meaningful themes. The researcher followed the ethical guidelines. Results showed two major themes which were extracted from the interviews. These were academic proficiency and barriers of learning. The present study shows the expressions of first year nursing students about their online classes. According to the statement of the study participants’ online classes give confidence for them to face university examination. The academicians and students have to adapt to this online class for the better outcome of the students.
